Description
Wall Street Metals is thrilled to present you with its collection of 1921 High Relief Peace Silver Dollars in VG-VF condition. These unique coins were produced by the United States Mint during their first year of circulation. The Peace Silver dollar is one of the only coins to possess two separate mintage periods: one from 1921-1928 and another from 1934-1935.
Since these Peace Dollar Coins were minted prior to the discontinuation of silver currency, they are among the few dollar coins to be composed from 90% pure silver. These 1921 Peace Dollar Coins also hold the distinction of having a higher relief than their later counterparts due to the height of their raised images. The condition of each individual dollar coin ranges from very good to very fine. Regrettably, Wall Street Metals cannot guarantee the exact condition of your order in advance.
Depicted on the front of the Peace Silver Dollar is Anthony di Franciscis innovative rendition of Lady Liberty. Unlike previous portraits, which were based on classical images, Francisci took a more modern approach with design by modeling her after the actual Statue of Liberty. She is depicted wearing her trademark radiate or multi-pointed crown, with several loose strands of hair blowing in the wind. Beneath her lifelike portrait appear the words, In God We Trust. Also engraved at the top and bottom of the coin are her name and the coins mintage year respectively.
The bald eagle serves as the reverse sides central design element. For this image, Francisci has depicted the bird with an olive branch clasped in its talons as it perches vigilantly from a mountain peak. Illuminating the background behind the eagle are rays of sunlight, whose sharp points resemble those of Lady Libertys crown. Francisci finishes his design with an arched inscription printed above the eagle. This inscription includes our nations name and the phrase E Pluribus Unum.
