Description
The U.S. Mint started producing $10 Liberty Gold Eagle Coins in 1838. Almost 70 years later, in 1907, these coins stopped production. The Liberty Gold Eagle was the second design for $10 Gold Eagles. Since it was minted before the cessation of gold currency in the U.S. in 1933, it is not only rare, but also features a purity of 90.0% that catches the attention of both collectors and investors alike. Wall Street Metals is now offering $10 Liberty Gold Eagle Coins in MS65 condition (PCGS or NGC).

The $10 Liberty Gold Eagle Coin was designed by artist, Christian Gobrecht. The obverse of the coin features his portrayal of Lady Liberty. In this Greco-Roman inspired image, Lady Liberty appears in profile wearing a crown and thick curls atop her head. Framing her is a border of thirteen stars to symbolize the original thirteen colonies. The obverse side of this coin also features the coin’s mintage year directly beneath the portrait of Lady Liberty.
The reverse of the coin shows the Heraldic Eagle. Gobrecht’s version of the Heraldic Eagle showcases the bird with a shield, an olive branch and arrows. Also featured on the reverse is the coin’s denomination and year of mintage. Customers should be aware that the $10 Liberty Eagles minted after 1866 include an inscribed scroll that is above the Heraldic Eagle. The scroll reads “In God We Trust.” Unfortunately, Wall Street Metals cannot guarantee customers will receive either version of the coin, as it is dependent upon product availability at the time of purchase.
The coins in this listing will all be graded MS65, meaning that there may be scattered contact marks or two larger marks on the coin’s surface. Light scuffing may be present on the highest portions of the coins, however, the overall appearance of the coin is above-average.
