The red-tailed hawk (scientific name- Buteo jamaicensis) inhabits most of North America, from Alaska and northern Canada to Panama and the West Indies.
A bird of prey, two of its greatest strengths is its ability to adapt and exploit rapidly changing environments and being an ecological form of rodent control.
