The Royal Mint of Great Britain has a long history of changing financial systems which finally culminated in tying the value of the British pound to that of gold.
This adoption of the gold standard by the Royal Mint of Great Britain is commemorated through this issue of the 2021 British Gold Standard 1/4-oz gold coin.

The crowned old bust of the Queen’s image wearing the Royal Diamond Diadem crown worn for her Coronation (effigy known as the “Fifth Portrait”) and the Coronation Necklace on the obverse has been designed by British engraver Jody Clark.
These coins are exempt from the UK Capital Gains Tax for UK residents and individually packaged in a single coin capsule, as per the website of the Royal Mint.
