The Canadian Silver Maple Leaf was introduced in 1988, almost a decade after the gold version of the coin. The Silver Maple Leaf shares the exact same designs on both the obverse and reverse as its gold counterpart, with only Queen Elizabeth IIs image on the obverse changing over time to reflect her age.
